Rachel Selan is praised for "singing with a radiant mezzo." Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she has made NYC her home since 2011. Rachel is happy on either a musical theatre or operatic stage.

Favorite musical theatre roles include the Baker's Wife in Into the Woods, Alma Hix in The Music Man, and performing in reviews such as Side by Side by Sondheim and Cole!​

In the classical world, Rachel performed as a resident artist with Dicapo Opera Theatre for three seasons, performing lead and supporting roles in their productions of Iolanta (Marta), The Consul (Vera Boronel), and Rigoletto (Giovanna), as well as their Tuxedo Park gala which was comprised of operetta and musical theatre selections. Other notable operatic credits include Hansel and Gretel (Hansel), Carmen (Carmen cover), Little Women (Jo cover, Aunt Cecelia), The Crucible (Rebecca Nurse), Thaïs (Albine), Le nozze di Figaro (Marcellina) and The Mikado (Pitti Sing).

Rachel received her Bachelor in Music Theatre from the University of Colorado at Boulder, a Masters in Vocal Performance at the University of Southern California and obtained her Graduate Diploma from New England Conservatory of Music. She currently resides in New York City where she studies with Andrew Byrne.
